招聘詳情：

The Chinese University Press is seeking a passionate and experienced candidate to perform manuscript editing.  

Established in 1977 as the publishing house of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University Press has established itself as a leading bilingual publisher of scholarly and professional publications. The position provides an incredible opportunity to work independently with well-established and promising authors in Hong Kong and global academia.

Applicants should have 

(i) a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or Social Sciences; 

(ii) a good command of English and Chinese; 

(iii) demonstrated editorial experience and strong communication skills; 

(iv) the ability to oversee the workflow of multiple book projects; 

(v) excellent writing/editing/proofreading capabilities in English and/or Chinese; and 

(vi) time-consciousness, patience and attentiveness to details. 

Copy-editing experience is highly desirable but not required for candidates with an advanced degree.  

The appointee will be responsible for English and/or Chinese book projects in the area of China studies.  

Duties include 

(a) overseeing the editorial process of academic and general titles produced by The Chinese University Press; 

(b) editing manuscripts for style, clarity, grammar, internal consistency, etc.; 

(c) interacting effectively with other members of the Press in a deadline-driven environment; and 

(d) keeping good workflow of multiple projects.  

Appointment will be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.  

Applicants should submit the following materials in the application: 

(1) a 2-page cover letter explaining your background and suitability to this job; 

(2) a CV highlighting publications and editorial experience; 

(3) one or two sample essays of English and/or Chinese writing (each sample is limited to 5 pages); and 

(4) two letters of recommendation (if any).
